About Gibson SG Electric Guitars

The Gibson SG Electric Guitar was first introduced in the market in 1961 under the Les Paul line.  Because of its difference from the Les Paul model, it has gained its own popularity especially with the rock n roll guitar players.  The SG has a shallower body than the Les Paul model thus it is much lighter.

Eric Clapton  used a Gibson SG starting in 1967 while in Cream  This guitar was known as the "fool" guitar, as it was painted by the Dutch artists, known collectively as The Fool. In spring 1968, the SG was loaned to Jackier Lomax , a friend of George Harrison. The "fool" was later sold to a private collector.
